Mother-of-pearl mosaic is the slowest work that leaves this bench: the shell is cut into irregular tesserae and laid one piece at a time, so no two panels ever repeat and the color shifts with the light. Here the full face is hand-laid shell framed by 24K gold-plated borders and rosettes, set over an alpaca silver alloy base in our Guadalajara workshop, where the family has been making western pistol grips since 1984.
