The Centenario is the fifty-peso gold coin Mexico struck in 1921 to mark a century of independence — the heaviest thing the country ever put its eagle on. It appears here in 24K gold-plated relief, one coin to a panel, set into a hand-engraved field in silver-plating and framed by gold-plated horseshoes above and below. White zirconias run the full perimeter and ring each horseshoe. Every piece is finished over alpaca silver alloy at the family workshop in Guadalajara, where the Ortiz family has worked since 1984. Fits the Colt 1911 Full-Size, .45 ACP, .38 Super, Kimber 9mm 1911 and Rock Island.
