The Centenario is the fifty-peso gold coin Mexico struck in 1921 to mark a century of independence — the heaviest thing the country ever put its eagle on. It appears here in 24K gold-plated relief, one coin to a panel, framed by gold-plated scrollwork over a hand-engraved field in silver-plating. White zirconias run the full perimeter and ring each medallion. Every piece is finished over alpaca silver alloy at the family workshop in Guadalajara, where the Ortiz family has worked since 1984. Fits the Colt 1911 Full-Size, .45 ACP, .38 Super, Kimber 9mm 1911 and Rock Island.
